Arthritis

The latest report is that the Alzheimer’s disease can be avoided with the help of a protein, which is produced in arthritis. In fact, the BBC News has reported the same recently. One of the researches carried out in United States has discovered a special protein and named it as GM-CSF. This protein is said to be produced in none other than the rheumatoid arthritis. The great thing about this protein is that it will help in triggering the immune system and thereby, will play a major role in destroying the plaques of proteins that is commonly detected in Alzheimer’s disease. In order to support the research, there was a mice genetically engineered in order to develop the Alzheimer’s disorder. The researchers were quite surprised with the fact that the mice was highly improvised in terms of learning as well as memory after being injected by GM-CSF injection for about twenty days.

On the other hand, even a normal mice was injected the same and was found to have an enhanced memory and learning after quite a few days. In addition, the brain of these mice was increased with the microglial cell levels. Well, these cells are those which engulf the foreign organisms as well as the debris. It is said that there are possibilities wherein the increased microglial cell levels can be highly helpful to combat with the development of amyloid proteins. In the developing amyloid proteins is also one of the crucial steps of Alzheimer’s disease.

These researches were also helpful to realize some other facts like the importance of rheumatoid proteins in defending the Alzheimer’s disease. However, the researchers say that there are some more researches to be carried out in order to detect whether GM-CSF can be used as a regular way to treat Alzheimer’s disease.
